Gabriel Project

The Gabriel Project is a parish-based ministry to women facing crisis pregnancies.

Volunteers with participating parishes offer support to a pregnant woman by offering the love, care, and spiritual, material, and emotional support she needs throughout her pregnancy. A "Sign of Life" is placed in front of the church stating that help is available to pregnant women. Then, a trained volunteer mentor, called a Gabriel Angel, is matched with a pregnant woman and is responsible for ongoing contact throughout her pregnancy and beyond.

In late 2009, Archbishop Brunett encouraged Fr. Ed White, St. Stephen the Martyr parish in Renton, to take the lead in laying the necessary groundwork to begin this ministry locally. After much work, the Gabriel Project ministry began in February 2011.
