Catholic Relief Services Grants and Programs
Catholic Relief Services carries out the commitment of the Bishops of the United
States to assist the poor and vulnerable overseas. We are motivated by the Gospel
of Jesus Christ to cherish, preserve and uphold the sacredness and dignity of all
human life, foster charity and justice, and embody Catholic social and moral teaching.

CRS Rice Bowl
CRS Rice Bowl is a Lenten program of prayer, fasting, learning, and giving.
The educational materials assist ongoing parish and school efforts in developing
a spirituality of justice and solidarity with those most in need. Donations help
fund CRS development projects in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America
to produce more food, increase income and address poverty. 25% of contributions
remain in this archdiocese for grants to parishes and organizations that help the
poor in Western Washington.

Fair Trade Program
Work of Human Hands is an arts and crafts sale program designed for parish and school
communities to support low-income craft producers in developing countries. Through
the marketing of their international crafts (bazaars, craft fairs, etc.), we help
others achieve the hope and dignity that comes with self-reliance. Along with WHH,
the Fair Trade program also includes Fair Trade Coffee and the Fair Trade Network,
with educational and advocacy resources. Check it out!
Many of our parishes and schools are involved with fair trade coffee programs;
please contact us in the Missions Office if you are interested in learning of
their experience.
