Our office represents Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), Catholic Relief
Services (CRS) and Pontifical Mission Societies. We also work closely with the U.S.
Catholic Bishops’ Department of Justice, Peace, and Human Development, which has
great resources for parishes and schools wishing to implement Catholic social teaching.
CCHD - Catholic Campaign for Human Development
A national program of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops supports the efforts of low-income people seeking to change the social, political and economic conditions that perpetuate poverty. It began in 1970 in all dioceses as a commitment to promote social and economic justice by addressing the root causes of poverty. Through the archdiocesan Build Hope collection in September, CCHD provides grants to groups of low-income people working for social change and also educates Catholics about Catholic social doctrine and its applications.
