CRS Rice Bowl
CRS Rice Bowl is a Lenten program of prayer, fasting, learning, and giving.
The educational materials assist ongoing parish and school efforts in developing
a spirituality of justice and solidarity with those most in need. Donations help
fund CRS development projects in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America
to produce more food, increase income and address poverty. 25% of contributions
remain in this archdiocese for grants to parishes and organizations that help the
poor in Western Washington.
Rice Bowl Grants in Archdiocese of Seattle
Seventy-five percent of the locally collected funds for Rice Bowl are used by Catholic Relief Services overseas for development projects, such as small loan programs for women in the poorest areas of the world. (Please visit the CRS web site to learn more about its programs overseas!) Twenty-five percent of the funds stay in each (arch)diocese for local projects. 2013 grant results will be available in June.
